Dr. McCaughey graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 2021 and completed an emergency medicine internship with MVS the year following. In 2022 he joined the emergency team as a full-time member of the staff. He enjoys emergency and critical care because it gives him an opportunity to make a positive impact on many different animals and their families every day.
Outside of work Dr. McCaughey enjoys playing live music, hockey, and many other seasonal outdoor activities throughout the year. He lives in Madison with his girlfriend and their dog, Marshall, a Lab/Great Dane Mix.
